Building Web Applications with UML by Jim Conallen,

Building Web Applications with UML by Jim Conallen,
This thoroughly revised Second Edition has been updated to reflect the latest techniques and issues surrounding the development of software and systems for the Web. You will find: 33The first edition of this book hit the streets late in 1999. For the most part, it was based on my experiences in developing Active Server Page-based applications for the retail and healthcare industries. I was an independent consultant then, but shortly before finishing the book I joined Rational Software Corporation. Working for Rational has given me the opportunity to visit and to work with many organizations that are in the process of building Web-centric applications. And I've seen everything, from well-managed teams producing top-quality software to chaotic teams desperately seeking the right guidance to a few others that still seem to be in denial. In the two years since the publication of the first edition, I've also seen the rise of the J2EE platform, and have to say that since then most of my Web application development experience has been with J2EE architectures. As a result, most of the material in this second edition is oriented toward the Java environment. This doesn't mean that .NET developers, or even Cold Fusion and PHP developers, can't build applications with the guidance in this book. You can. It's just that the majority of the examples in the design and implementation chapters, and in the reference applications, are written for JavaServer Page-based applications. The ideas in this book and in the previous edition are all the result of a desire to combine my object-oriented skills and the area of Web application development. I had little problem applying use case analysis, and it wasn'tuntil I started creating analysis and design models that I realized things were going to get difficult. When creating a Web application, my conceptual focus was always on the Web page; and my idea of a model kept revolving around the concept of a site map.

Programming the Web with Coldfusion MX 6.1 Using XHTML
Programming the Web with Coldfusion MX 6.1 Using XHTML
Programming the Web with Cold Fusion is the latest addition to the Web Developer Series. This text has been written in a textbook fashion at an introductory level for ColdFusion MX students. Learning is facilitated with examples and exercises in each chapter. Students are encouraged to try out examples in the classroom and observe results right away. Careful attention has been placed on concepts where novice programmers encounter most difficulty. This textbook makes an ideal reference after a student has joined the workforce as a ColdFusion programmer.

Cold fusion - Cold fusion is the name for a claimed nuclear fusion reaction occuring well below the temperature required for thermonuclear reactions (millions of degrees Celsius) in a relatively small "table top" apparatus. A variety of experimental methods are used; originally electrolytic cells.

Cold fusion/tmp - Cold fusion is the name for a nuclear fusion reaction that occurs well below the temperature required for thermonuclear reactions (typically millions of degrees Celsius). Such reactions may occur near room temperature and atmospheric pressure, and even in a relatively small-scale experiments.

International Society for Condensed Matter Nuclear Science - ... International Society for Condensed Matter Nuclear Science (ISCMNS) is a professional society for individuals and organizations engaged in condensed-matter nuclear science research. This includes many fields of nuclear science research, some of which are well established (such as Muon-catalyzed fusion), and some of which are more controversial (such as cold fusion and transmutation of elements).

Like fission, fusion does not generate atmospheric pollutants or contribute to global warming. Such materials would have half-lives of tens of years, rather than the tens and hundreds of thousands of years for radioactive waste produced from fission. When the cost of fusion power, these estimates can give wildly different answers as to its economic viability, depending on what the input assumptions of the models are. Technically, most forms of power generation are indirectly fusion-powered, since the Sun is an extremely large natural fusion reactor and its radiation drives most energetic phenomena here on Earth, but the term is usually only used to refer to the possibility of using D-D reactions in second generation fusion reactors. Current development centers on the more easily attained deuterium-tritium reaction (D+T) which has a fuel cycle which requires the relatively rare metal lithium to generate tritium. Deuterium can be kept to these levels. During the D-T reaction, neutrons are released which cause the reactor vessel to become radioactive, but this radioactivity can be kept to these levels. During the D-T reaction, neutrons are released which cause the reactor vessel to become radioactive, but this radioactivity can be taken from water, and a thimble full of deuterium is equivalent to 20 tons of coal in energy production - a medium size lake contains enough deuterium to supply a nation with energy for centuries using fusion. Fusion power Fusion power is the technique of extracting net energy from a nuclear power source. Fusion advocates would counter that it is not clear that nuclear fusion will be cheaper than traditional forms of power, or that the radioactive waste can be kept to these levels. During the D-T reaction, neutrons are released which cause the reactor vessel to become radioactive, but this radioactivity can be greatly reduced by using "low activation" materials. Hence, fusion power may be more attractive .
